Driving mode button not working

Featured Replies

Hi,

So I’ve had my 2015 Octavia for a couple of years now, but only recently started doing any kind of mods.

One thing that has always bothered me a little was that the driving mode button didn’t do anything, and now that I’m making other adaptions it would be good to finally resolve.

So; when I press the mode button, it blinks orange, but nothing happens on the infotainment. I’ve used OBDEleven to examine the control units, and I can clearly see the driving profile button as installed and active (I think units 9 and 19). I think the only other place that makes sense to be limiting the functionality is the infotainment itself - unit 5F, but going through it I can’t see any indication for where something may need to be enabled.

Any thoughts / advice?

Ali.

IIRC Drive Mode is a SWaP feature that requires a FeC code in the 5F Infotainment to enable the menus.

Is the 5F the one the car was originally built with or has it been swapped/replaced at some time?

Honestly, I don’t know having not bought it new 🤔 I haven’t changed it, though. I’m in the process of upgrading the head unit so maybe that’ll fix it, I was just hoping there would be a quick fix!

Now about a month post head unit upgrade. Still no luck. The link below mentions a number of modules RE driving mode (1, 9, 19, 5F) - wondering if anyone here may know the bytes and hex numbers involved?
