Alarm not flashing, locked out

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I am having a problem trying to get into my Octavia. Neither of the two fobs is able to unlock the doors or the boot, showing red light when pressed.

Also, there is no usual flashing light on the door inside the car. The car hasn't been used for a couple of weeks, so I thought the battery may be flat.

But how do I get access to it?

Many thanks for any suggestions!

This video should help you get into your car.  It's for a VW - but the Skoda is the same.

The next issue will be opening the bonnet to access the battery (assuming you have a RHD drive car).  The lever is on the passenger side on RHD models, and you won't be able to open the passenger door.  Some here have reported being able to bend/twist the plastic level sufficiently to open the bonnet.  This thread here discusses your options:

Thank you for your help! Getting into the car and opening the bonnet was fairly painless thanks to the links you posted.

I am now charging the battery. A knowledgeable friend told me there is no point jump starting and I should not try to disconnect the battery, as it's a start-stop one.

Thanks again!
