Data transfer is currently set to "Share my position"
You can find out what this setting entails and how
to change it in the control center.

I have looked high and low through all the menu's but fail to find

how to disable it.

?

Is there nothing about it in the owners manual?

A year ago I bought a Skoda and soon found that a Data Protection Message kept appearing several times on a journey. I twice sent letters recorded delivery to the Managing Director UK asking “Why does the message have to appear more than once per journey?” but received no reply. Several times I telephoned Skoda UK. I exchanged more than 600 e-mails with 8 Skoda people in the UK and 11 in CZ. The car went to the dealer 5 times a total of 36 days. No one would answer the question. After 11 months I stopped seeing the message because I sold the Skoda and bought a Nissan.

I’ve had the same issue and as far as I could see there isn’t a way to turn it off. It’s really irritating, not least because of all the other things you have to “set” on each journey including the hateful lane assist. The dealer couldn’t sort it so my solution is never to turn the head unit off, and i’ve never had it pop up since. I won’t be buying another Skoda though.
