1.2 HTP Engine hesitating

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'm new here

I have got a Skoda fabia 1.2 htp (AWY). It has 97k km. I have a problem that I can't solve and didn't find any solution. Sometimes the car loses power when accelerating between 1500-2000rpm in 2nd,3rd gears (There is no problem at high speed) and above 2000rpm the car runs perfectly. For example I put the first gear... everything is perfect then change the second gear.. it accelerates and suddenly it stops to accelerate.. still pressing the gas pedal and once it begins to accelerate again.

This problem is really strage because it appears once in a month or sometimes more frequently. If I restart the engine (clutch is pressed then turn of the engine and turn it on while moving) the problem goes away and runs perfectly without any problem.

There is no check engine light or fault code. I've already changed all the spark plugs and ignition coils. The car starts perfectly. I have no idea what is wrong.

Thanks for your answer.

Burnt exhaust valve terror = BEVT on an AWY.

Get a compression leakdown test to confirm.
