Octavia Vrs230 Radiatorfan is running a lot

Hello, my fan on my rs230 2018 is getting on verry quickly. After 10km of use it is sometimes running and then I ride not hard with it. Wheater is not to hot these days... Coolant level is fine. Is it to cool the turbo or did I miss something? Car is stage 2 remapped but don't think that is an issue. If i check the coolant temperature in obd2 with torque app, it reaches 105 a 108 degrees but the temp meter in the says 90 degrees...if i ride it harder it cools down. But it won't go over 108 degrees even if i idle stationair for 15 minutes...just the fan blows like a crazy one. Maybe the thermostat is failing?  Car has done 50k kms... anyone ideas?

thanks,

Len

The car engine is going to be working harder if the vehicle is Stage2 remapped.  So - there is a good chance that will be contributing to the issue.

You might want to look at the effectiveness of the coolant pump.  I know earlier MK3's had issues with the pump failing dramatically (I saw one at York Services on the A1 at Christmas); the pump is there is circulate the coolant around the engine and out to the radiator.  If the pump is on its way out (either degraded fins or leak), then you are going to get hot-spots.  The thermostat seems to be reporting correctly.  One way to immediatly diagnose if you have either a failed thermostat or pump is to feel the coolant expansion tank (with the back of your hand).  If it is hot, then coolant is being exchanged; if it is cool; then get the thermostat changed and get the pump investigated.

I contacted the tuner who said that they programmed the temperature higher so that the fan kicks in sooner to protect the engine. Didn't now this was possible ...
