2010 Superb DRLs

Featured Replies

Hello and greetings, proud new owner of a 2010 combi 2.0 TDI which I am thrilled with and just getting to know! Query I have is re the lower daytime running lights, which stay on when I turn the headlights on, either full or auto, and I find quite irritating. See pic. I cannot work out how to turn them off, does anyone have any ideas?!IMG-20200206-085156.jpg

Is that a DRL or a fog lamp? I think there are two bulbs, one for each function and I'd expect the 'inner' bulb to be the fog lamp.

Pretty sure @silver1011 has a picture somewhere...

The fog lamps are off in this photo, so that's what made me think dlr

The picture is showing dipped headlights and the fog light. The DRL bulb is off.

Unfortunately the photo doesn't show both fog lights.

As the wheels are turned to the right, and with dipped headlights on, the cornering fog light feature is active.

So everything we can see in the picture above is normal.

However, if with the wheel straight, the car in neutral and the fog light switch in the off position, the fog light/s are still illuminating then there is an issue.

Also note, that with dipped headlights on, and with reverse gear selected, both front fog lights illuminate, the idea is that it helps with low speed visibility when reversing.

This is the MkII Octavia, but the MkII Superb's cornering fog lights work in the exact same way...
