problems with recording TV programmes through the computer

Featured Replies

We have recentely got the stuff needed to record TV programmes through our computer. On play back the picture is spot on but there is no sound whatsoever, the sound is fine when recording and when just watching TV.

Anyone have any ideas on what could be going wrong?

Thanks

Pix :P

Pixi, are you sure you have selected the corresponding "audio input" to the video?

It sounds (excuse the pun :P) as if you may have the wrong input selected and you're "recording" silence. What program are you using to record? Are you sure you actually have selected the option to record sound - you can record pictures and omit to tick the "record sound" checkbox ;)

More info required :)

tried to post last night but site down again? anyways what are you using to record with ? my brother showed me a NEBULA DIGITV usb box , 2 mins to load software , 3 mins to find the channels , within 10 mins was recording straight to hard drive . you can record up to 7 channels at once as long as they are on the same multiplex i.e. bbc1,2,3,4,bbci etc or itv1,2,3,4,e4,e4+1 etc , brilliant peice of kit approx £80 from NEBULA but on EBAY for approx £60 . you can even buy a slave unit/s which work with the master unit and you can probably record all the freeview channels at once space permitting on your hard drive
