Coolant light comes after about 2 miles, turn engine off and strait away restart and it goes out for a while then come on again.

any ideas, could it be a faulty switch?

Just to be clear coolant level is correct, in 2 years we have not had to top up water, water is a nice clear pink as I would expect.

 

Have a look at the wiring near the electrical connector on the expansion tank; it may have got damaged.
