LED Lamps are Cool . . .

. . . so cool that they don’t melt the snow as the old halogens used to do.

I must have driven a few miles with very little light shining forward.

It’s not easy to just stop every couple of miles for a wipe.

At night I’d hope to notice a drop off in illumination and not lose all forward lighting.

And all the front sensors got pretty upset too.

ps - today was a fun day in the wilds of Perthshire - I turned back after playing on a lane near Ben Lawers 😀

I noticed that a while back on the rare occasion we had lots of snow Devon! I've also noticed that even if they get dirty it makes a big difference. I can only assume the latter is due to them being very narrow headlights.

LED headlights are naturally narrow, the LED headlights on my Mercedes are also especially susceptible to road grime quickly diminishing their light output, much more than previous halogen and xenon headlights I've experienced.
