WANTED - 2012 Amundsen SD Card

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, looking for a bit of help please.  I have a 61 Plate Skoda Yeti Model Year 2012.  I received the car a few months ago without an SD Card for the Amundsen Sat Nav.  I contacted the previous owner who never had this and werent using the function anyway.  Could anyone on the forum assist with where to to find one ?  There are a number of Sat Nav Update websites out there but dont seem to have the ones for this model year.  Any Ideas as mani Skoda dealer and Skoda UK struggling to find a solution

First you need to figure out if you have an Amundsen (RNS-310) or Amundsen+ (RNS-315). Once that's done, it's pretty easy to find an SD card.

To identify whether you have an RNS310 or RNS315, simply follow the instructions below:

Press SETUP and hold about 10 sec.
Choose “Versions” or “System Information”

An RNS310 has only three information lines:
- Part number
- Software versions
- System hardware versions

An RNS315 has five information lines:
- Part number
- Software versions
- System hardware versions
- Navigation data: part number
- Navigation data: version

I had the RNS310 in my 61 plate  2011. The maps came on 2 CD's (still got them) but if you want to play music CD's then you needed to to insert a blank SD card so the radio can download the map data onto it, then remove the map CD. I used a bigger memory card so you can put music on the card as well and play CD's. 👍

I have the RNS315 in my 14 plate has an inbuilt hard drive and comes with the maps already loaded.

The software's for each unit are different hence you need to know which one you have. I think all maps & updates are now on SD cards so on the RNS310 it maybe a case of just put in and play.

I have now checked the Setup on the unit and it looks like RNS310.

Part Number - 3T0035191A

Software Versions - 0357

System Hardware Version - H19

Does that fill in the info i need on whether its a SD Card or DVD....?  Looking to get this as quickly as possibly as getting a bit frustrated without Sat Nav...Appreciate the help!!

The latest map updates are on only on SD card. The SD needs to be left in the headunit for the nav to work.

Genuine ones from a dealer are probably around £200. There are plenty of cheaper options on eBay for example: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362630909450

Be warned, some cheaper SD's maybe counterfit or cloned, including the auction I posted :)

I think if it takes a dvd it can only be updated at huge cost?

The ones with sd cards that can be updated through the skoda site don't use dvd's any more?

The Columbus (RNS-510) took and still takes updates on DVD's.

The first few Amundsen (RNS-310) updates were on CD but they stopped releasing CD's in about 2013. More recent map updates are only on SD.

Only the newer MIB style headunits can be updated via the website. This does not apply to the older RNS-310 which the OP has fitted.
