Does it mean my  b attery is dead? I dont have remote wire for amp, it takes signal from Columbus HU and does not turn off immediately after i leave the car. Does that mean the amp draining my battery? How else could i wire the amp? Switch is not too comfy all the time, i tried already.

It looks like the amp is drawing too much current on the control wire, and the head unit is shutting off as protection because it thinks something is wrong.

Which wire did you cut in to?

but what do you mean control wire? it only has 12v ground and speaker cables. i checked the battery, 11.92 v when engine off. at cranking goes down to 9.3v. so im guessing my batt is dead. or at least needs to be charged w charger

How does the amplifier know when to turn on and off? Or have you connected it to an ignition live source?

You have a battery drain. What switches on your amplifier?

i have an rns510 HU. and the amp turns on when it senses the signal in the speaker wire. that turns on the amp. BUT when i remove key fully, the HU is on for about 5-10 mins. then it shuts down fully.

That will kill your battery before long.

Never come across an amp that turned on by speaker signal before.

then what should i do? this HU dont have remote output. i tried to tapping some wires peeps suggested but none worked

The problem is CANBUS stuff is not as simple as the days of old where things were controlled simply by relays and the position of the ignition key. As far as I know the factory headunits in the Octavia are CANBUS controlled, they are permanently powered and just get sent a shutdown signal when they should switch off (e.g when the driver's door opens after ignition is turned off).

Unless there is some sort of CANBUS interface you can use to control the amplifier, I would stick with either a manual switch, or connect the amp 'remote' wire to an ignition live source so it's switched on and off with ignition.

i know its sucks. might install back the switch then... the cigarette lighter is always powered on, even in the trunk. thats not good either 😞 do you have any idea what can be ignition live?

Position 40 in the fuse box provides an ignition live source and is fed by a decently beefy wire. I'm running a dash cam and a phone charger from this

Image result for octavia 1z fuse diagram

Obviously that image is mirrored if your car is right hand drive
