Not a chance, a standard VRS is about 150 BHP, 2005 Polo and Fabia are the SAME car under the skin so your question is questionable at best.

Given reasonable maintenance histories, there's still the chance the Polo's balancer shaft will eat itself and reduce the engine to scrap too.

 

.....@OP, Neither car is what you might call the pinnacle of the sporting driver's ambition. If you want that, find a Ford Puma or a Lotus Elise. But you won't do 400 miles before a refill either.
