Engine cover rattle

Featured Replies

Ive searched and I know this has been raised before, but I couldnt find what to do about it!

I fitted the Seat strut brace and have been getting a louder rattle and an extra rattle when setting off, so today I took the engine cover off and now I have no rattles- its silent :D But the engine looks **** without it and I want it back on, so what have people done to stop it making a noise?

It did buzz/rattle a bit before I fitted the SB so the cover must be touching in other places too. It doesnt seem to sit right once in position either, see the photo...

Cheers for any help

Looks like its not sat in its right hand side mount to me... Take it off and make sure the rubber bit is sat in the mount.

Probably find the insert has come out of the cover rather than popping off the fixing.

doesn't look like you've slipped it in the rear rubber mount correctly ,thats why it looks off to the left

The insert had come out and has now lined up a bit better  Still a bit close to the SB though...maybe a bit of foam between them might help

Thanks :)
