1.6CR Black Edition Estate - Lowering Options

Featured Replies

Hello There,

I'm looking for lowering options for my 1.6CR Estate, which is riding far too high. Could someone point me in the right direction for options? I've looked at springs and coilover kits, but I'm just confusing myself as to the best option.

Any help and advice would be fantastic.

Many Thanks

I would fit Eibach lowering springs. Fitted them on my Mk1 Fabia VRS and also MK2 Octy VRS and had no issues at all with them. They lower the car but not stupidly low that ramps become an issue.

H&R 40mm is the way to go, just make sure you get the correct springs for the torsion beam suspension and not the vRS ones.

Will sit like my car does :)

However nice it looks. 40mm is too low for my liking given speed humps etc thar keep popping up everywhere.

Mine is 25mm lower than a standard vRS and has the splitter. No issues with it yet, no caught splitter or bottoming out :) I am careful over speed bumps and potholes though. You can do a 30mm drop if preferred.

Round here in Warton, Preston there are plenty of potholes. I like a bit of play in the suspension as I have the 19s fitted hence why I havent lowered it any.

If I went for a set of H&R Springs..... Would 288331 work? mixed messages online whether these would.

Yes, 1.6TDI front axle rating is 980kg so the 28833-1’s should be grand.
