Having trouble with my vrs

Featured Replies

I've recently started having problems with my fab and was hoping someone here could help.

Car starts fine first thing but for some reason when the car seems to be up to running temp I start the car and it's like the accelerator pedal goes dead and wont rev. If I leave it run for a few seconds the needle will rise on its own and the car will rev again.

I've changed the throttle position sensor but still doing it.

Only codes that show is glow plug harness which also comes and goes and fuel temp sensor but the fuel temp sensor as always been at fault since owning the car.

Only thing that I've had done was a remap a few days before this problem arose. Any help would be great

Why don't you just replace the fuel temperature sensor, it's on top of the fuel filter housing held in by a circlip and is cheap and incredibly easy to change?

I have changed it but made no difference which leads me to believe it must be a break in the wiring some where. Hoping the break is in the wiring harness under the bonnet and not behind the dash. Still this can't be any thing to do with the no acceleration when started. The glow plug harness fault code is the only new code I've had since this problem as arrived

Fuel temp sensor wouldnt cause the problem you have. Or at least not on mine.

The wiring on the connector for the sensor does go brittle. (Mine crumbled) but I still drove the car with the broken wire until i had chance to strip the wiring and plastic connector back to repair. Had no running problems what so ever apart from  the eml light on. Bodge repair has been fine for 3+ years now.

No I know. The fuel temp sensor eml was on when I bought the car but thought it would be an easy fix.

Putting a 2nd hand wiring loom on 2mz in hope it will fix that problem.

Plugged the car into the lap top and and 1571 showed up so hoping it's the electrical circuit relay causing the **** starting and no throttle response sometimes after starting.seems to only happen when warm.
