Enable Digital Speedo in non Maxidot cars

Featured Replies

I'm about to give up on this, but anyway;

I've read a few posts across various forums stating that the digital MPH speedo can be enabled on the basic MFD - ours is a 2013 Yeti S without maxidot but with the back and white basic screen.

I've even seen pictures (see below - this is the same display as ours).

However, I've tried changing country to Australia and even though the coding was accepted, nothing has changed (the units even stay at UK gallons when I look in the adaptations list). No digital speedo. No change.

Am I missing something in adaptations? Is it a 'screen' in the MFD that needs a tick somewhere in VCDS to enable? In the same way I would imagine for example, Oil Temperature would need to be enabled without Full Maxidot capability, through some setting in VCDS?

Its frustrating because it seems like the non-maxidot guys managed to get it enabled but then stumbled when the units also switched to US gallons which messed up their MPG readings. Annoyingly I think I have the second problem sussed out thanks to @langers2k

Yes you need to untick the “Alt. Speed Disp” which you need either MFSW buttons or on the wiper stalk... which you do not have.

But people have managed it without 😭

Then the box will be there in the Maxidot to untick...

Not sure if were crossing wires here, I don't have Maxidot. Perhaps I've explained poorly.

I want the digital speedo. I don't have Maxidot. I have seen cars without Maxidot (or steering wheel controls) have it enabled. I'm just wondering why I can't.
