I got one of these cheap magnetic phone holders from aliexpress that clips onto the aircon vents but my phone hits the indicator stalks everytime I grab my phone. anyone has alternatives / recommendations?

The location of the Karoq's central vents means the drivers side vent is rather close to the steering wheel / indicator stalk.

 

 

Some people rave about the Brodit mounts. A lot more expensive but they are at least better located. They look very a bit Heath Robinson though.

 

 

Whatever you do do not be tempted to use anything that attaches or sucks to the dashboard, the plastic Skoda use easily marks and cannot be easily fixed...

 

 

There is a lot of cheap tat out there, I use a windscreen mounted Hoco mount, which are all very good quality...

 

I use the Brodit mount that fits just under the display and have attached a Scosche magnetic mount to it. I much prefer Tom Tom on the phone as it provides much better routing than the Skoda sat nav and I find it easier to use than Google maps or Waze on Android Auto hence need to mount the phone.

i managed to snag a piece of HOCO rotable AC vent mounts where i'm at. will put it on another time but it should be less of a problem than those direct vent mounts.
