Skoda Octavia 1.9 Tdi Starting Problem after engine rebuild

I own a Skoda Octavia 1.9 Tdi Classic Rider, last month i got involved in a tragic incident with my Octavia, I went for Air Pollution check & there while performing the pollution check the operator was revving engine to higher RPM & it lead to the diesel engine runaway.

 

The car went crazy for a minute after burning the fuel. Turns out the Turbo was faulty, so i thought probably engine would have survived, So changed the Turbo only & after that the car was not starting up, So i had worked on rebuilding the engine with new Pistons, ring everything's faulty parts were changed & engine rebuilt. After completing all the work. The car was starting after few seconds it stalls if left idle, or stays fine on pressing RPM. After that mechanic messed up the vacuum pipes & worked on the cleaning the injectors.

 

After that fixed all the vacuum lines & tried again turns out the car won't start again.

 

Probably i think diesel pump is the faulty, please correct me if i'm wrong.

That sounds like a nightmare, testing the tandem pump sounds like a sensible idea.

 

In light of it running after the major work but not at low RPM and now not at all after injector cleaning perhaps the wiring to the injectors would be the best first check.  Possible broken connection(s).

 

Try starting it with some kind of easy-start aerosol or improvise with WD-40 etc. sprayed directly into the air inlet after disconnecting the air filter pipework.

Maybe some form of sensor somewhere. Nightmare of a guessing game.

 

If its running with throttle but dying on idle then it sounds to me like air starvation rather than fuel. Fuel starvation i dont think you would get very far up the rpm gauge without it coughing and giving up.

 

wrong fuel mix maybe, which would lead me to question what the ecu needs to decide how much fuel- maf? 

 

Or are some boost sensors playing havoc? opening the wastegate at idle and the (now too slow) turbo is restricting intake...

 

Seeing as the engine has been out to do the work i would look at any form of sensor along the loom and check connection, or obvious damage on the sensor itself. Inspect for broken/bent pins and maybe try some contact cleaner.

 

As you mentioned it stopped running completely after doing the vacuum lines i would start with anything electronic that goes anywhere near a vacuum line

This too, i didnt take into account it only not starting after injector cleaning.

Will try with replacing diesel pump and n75 n18 vaccum once lockdown is over here. Somebody need to uninstall 2020 and reinstall again, isn't going well.

Finally sorted out the issue, it's the ECM and diesel pump pressure was too low, so i had to replace them, i was able to find them from an old skoda Octavia, crank sensor was little torn out so replaced that as well. 

 $1000 included engine rebuild job was done, although it sounds quite louder now will take for checkup.
