Hi I have a EML on and has been checked and reported back as a Purge Filter and told would be a 90 minute job to replace this Car is a 2008 Roomster 1 1.4 16v is this right

Can you tell me the engine code? That'll be a three or four letter code at start of engine number on sticker on upper cambelt cover, or on data sticker in boot. 

If it's the purge valve, and is a similar layout to the 1.4 16V in my Polo I'd say that job time is about 86 minutes too long; but it may be quite different.

OK, I think it must be BXW. Here's the part that's called the purge valve (item 12); there is a two-way electrical connector to unplug from it, then two hose clips to undo. Remove old one, fit new one, put hoses and clips back on, reconnect electrical connector. Extremely quick and easy.

 

Post a photo of the one in your engine bay if you want confirmation of its identity.

 

Not sure what a 'purge filter' (as you described it) might be. What fault code number was read?
