So Im building up an engine out of the car. 

 

BLT engine on 140k my spare as the original in my Fabia has started knocking ( oil starvation, blocked strainer) 

 

the replacement I have has a 3 dot headgasket already installed, while it is out id like to do the pd150 headbolts upgrade etc 

just wondering if I will get away with having head skimmed if there is a thicker gasket available to compensate. 

If the head is straight then a minimal skim will not affect the gasket choice.

Machine shop will tell you what was needed to clean it up.
