Help. ☹️

Featured Replies

Hi,

got a 2012 Octavia. Had it a couple of months. Every now and then the ASR light comes on traction control, then it refuses to start it’s worse when it’s cold. First time it happened I replaced with a new battery, just had it serviced and he had the glow plugs out of it, he said they was fine. He reckons it could be a sensor on the clutch peddle. It hasn’t started now for two days and it’s starting to give me the arse.  Thanks in advanced.

Have you had a scan done on it??? to see any logged faults

Yes^ get codes. Cheap obd scanner on ebay for around 40quid for the vag cars.

Could be an ABS sensor as ASR requires wheel speed input, not convinced that would stop it from starting though... having said that cars do stupid things when abs sensors go dodgy.

Is it completely dead? Is it turning over? Lights on dash?

Thanks I’ll look into it.

All the dash lights come on,including the ASR Light. When you turn the key you get nothing. Then several attempts sometimes the next day it will start. If that asr light doesn’t come on I no it’s going to start straight away.

Regards.
