Fmic

Featured Replies

Hi guys, i have a 2011 octavia vrs, just wondering wether an audi rs3 fmic is a better upgrade than the standard intercooler? Not bothered about how difficult it is to fit, I will make it fit as I have already had a 20mm spacer fabricated to allow for a k04 064 to fit without hitting the block and run stage 3. Just curious on the intercooler difference as I have been given one from a 2016 rs3 and would like to custom fit and run.

Thanks

Bigger is better as a general rule of thumb and if im not mistaken the rs3 fmic is much bigger.

Other thing to consider is the amount of air flow- fmic is usually getting more air rammed into it due to location, and the vrs little intercooler in the wheel well just isnt going to get the same air flow.

If your engine is going to be tuned and running more boost then its not a bad idea to be feeding it with the coldest air possible, and big fat fmic is the easiest way to do that.

Just bear in mind to make it worthwhile you may end up having to hack up your bumper to feed it the air it needs, although im not sure on how you plan to mount it
