Hi guys/girls - Thomas from New Zealand.  First time Skoda owner.  I've ordered a My2020 Kodiaq VRS in Brilliant Silver on the 16th of March, coming over from a long list of Holdens.  It was time to get rid of the VF Commodore as she was almost 7 years old and getting a bit long in the teeth.

 

My wife wanted a SUV as our main car, so I looked at the Holden Acadia and almost bought it until a very close car buddy of mine suggested I look at the Kodiaq Sportline or Kodiaq VRS.  I hesitantly went over to the Skoda dealership across the road from the Holden dealership, and boy oh boy, am I glad I did!

 

2 days later I ordered the Kodiaq VRS after a 6 hour test drive.  The only condition from the "purse holder" (aka missus) was that the new car MUST have a sunroof, and there were no new ones in New Zealand with a panoramic roof - only 1 second hand one that wasn't in the colour  I wanted.

 

At the time the dealer told me there are 2 VRS's on the way to NZ, ETA 11th May - a Brilliant Silver and Quartz Grey - I chose the silver and have already ordered way too many accessories for it - I have always modded my car - some of them heavily.  I am mindful not to go too overboard on the Kodiaq, but we'll see.

 

I know that the lockdown all over the world will push back the delivery time, but in the meantime the dealer have given me a loan car till mine is delivered - I am now driving around in a 2020 Karoq Style Tsi with 280km on the clock until my car gets here.

 

Anyways, that's me - looking forward to many more posts on here.

Thanks Bogwoppit! I've done a fair bit of reading on here and learnt heaps about the car - I can't wait... and sitting at home in lockdown doesn't help either! But, good things come to those who wait I'm told! 

 

Please post some photos up of the Kodiaq when it arrives.

 

The wait must be driving you crazy, if that doesn't the lockdown might!

Hahahaha, the lockdown is not too bad... I'm an essential worker, so I only have the occasional day at home with the family - the rest of the time I am at work.  But I will definitely post some pics when the new whip is here!

I ordered a 2020 Superb Sportline Wagon on 2nd March, but it's a factory order so I have no idea when it'll turn up. Hopefully mid-late June or early July.

Awesome... I am glad they had 2 on the boat on the way here already... I don't think I'd be able to wait so long from factory built - I'm too impatient! 😁

Yeah, at the time I ordered there was no indication covid-19 would turn everything to **** so I was quite happy to wait.

 

I'm super impatient so learning that the factory closed for 2 weeks, then extended till April 20th has been difficult.

 

Oh well, can't really complain with whats going on.

Yep, same here... super impatient here as well... at least the dealer here at Ebbets in Hamilton has given me a brand new Karoq to drive around until my car arrives, which is good as I sold my VF Commodore the day before I signed for the new Skoda!

Yeah lucky, not sure I'll get the same from Gazley.

 

I sold my R32 the day before level 4 lock down came into effect 😅
