Headunit

Featured Replies

Hi iv desided to upgrade my headunit can anyone iv bought the 8 inch display it’s unlocked but we’re can I get it coded thanks

The display is just a display so no issue there. What base unit are you using? Has this had CP removed and features reactivated? If this is the case you will need VCDS to copy the coding and adaptations from your current radio to the new one and if you are an iPhone user you will need a new USB too, 5Q0035726E.

Iv just asked to seller it’s had the cp done and features reactivated.

OK, so you will need VCDS/OBDEleven PRO to scan the old radio and then change the adaptations and certain coding values to match. You’ll need a new USB for the CarPlay to work, 5Q0035726E with the green tip.

Hi Sasha thanks for the help I have’t got any of that and would know the first thing about how todo it So thinking maybe best trying to get it done at the dealership I live in Warrington do you know if that dealership will do it?

They wouldn’t and I wouldn’t ask them to as the last thing you want is them messing up the CP patch. Have you taken delivery of the radio yet? If not, get an autoscan of your car done and ask them if they can code it to match before sending it.

Coding radios to match isn’t a process to do at home if it’s your first coding attempt, you can do a lot of damage and I recommend seeking the help of someone who is competent in this area.
