Can anyone please help whether i should go for 17 inch wheels or not as in india the car came with 16 inch stock 

i am confused should i upgrade it or not in indian tdi units which is 2 litre diesel they gave torison beam suspension 

And I’ve heard that upgrading to 17’s with that suspension is not a good idea as it compromises with comfort a lot 

Please help ..

 

I had 18" on my  current car when I bought it, swapped them for 16". Main reason for the change was  damage from potholes and curbing.  After the change I found the the handling was not as precise, the ride was less harsh and the road noise a little less. However the differences were so small I suspect it may be my imagination . You also need to factor in the change in tyre brand from Bridgestone to Michelin.      

Current car has torsion beam, previous car had IRS which was superior in all respects!

I have 17 wheels on a 2L TDI with the beam axle and on good quality roads I have no complaints. I have also tested a car with 16 wheels and found very little difference, perhaps the 17s  are a little more planted and sharper cornering. Larger wheels are the norm these days from a style point. If the roads you travel are pot holed and in poor condition I would stick with the 16s for obvious reasons
