Help with fault codes and running problems

Featured Replies

Hi all . Started the car this evening and it took about 5 seconds to start. Usually starts straight away. Engine management light is also on and car not boosting properly.

I've checked the codes with torque lite and these two have come up.

P0489- improper voltage signal is sent through the exhaust gas valve.

P0243- turbocharger circuit is open or shorted.

Gonna have a cursory look tomorrow and see if anything is obviously amiss.

Any got ideas on where to start or possible causes?

Many thanks everyone.

Ps . I changed the rocker cover gasket and did abit of engine detailing yesterday so hoping I've just disturbed a connection . (Hopefully)

Check your vacuum connections, particularly between N75 and the turbo actuator.

It wasn't broke but you went ahead and fixed it anyway!
