My 2nd key is always on my spare house key ring and in a fastened / safe pocket.

This is just incase i lose the main key which i try to always have in a different pocket.

Probably wouldn't use the above method,  but may be possible to hide spare key in a recess in the rear bumper,  secured in place by masking tape or tie wraps?

Although not a means of storing a spare key,  I used something similar to THIS  to keep my handcuff and van keys on.

Never lost a key in the 6 years I used it.  Always right where I needed it,  and unlike some people,  I never left the key in the ignition* when dealing with an incident!

*mainly due to the fact you go @r$£ over tit if you forget to remove the key!

Thanks again...this seems the easiest to do and i have found a mobile pocket in my zip up jacket which has a velcro flap...

the spare drops in neatly and i have also found in my cupboard a small carabiner which when attatched to the key also slips into the mobile pocket so i can also attach the key if required to some part of my clothing...

i had thought about putting on a lanyard round my neck

i didnt want to drill the car or put the spare where there might be water and mud....lots of good ideas like that out there as well

cheers
