Featured Replies

Hi all

can I change the colour of instrument cluster which is currently red . Tried ambient light settings but doesn’t change cluster.

Are you in 'Sport' mode?

Is your Karoq equipped with 'Personalisation'?

If not then it can be adjusted in 'Ambient Lighting'.

Area C...

Dashboard doesn’t change in manual or auto. Normal mode and sport mode red.

Without going outside to check mine, I'm going by the manual, which with Skoda often makes things worse.

It suggests that by pressing here...

You're able to select which area to change colour? C being the one you want...

I'm sure when I select a different colour the whole lot changes on my Kodiaq, including the central display.

Perhaps the Karoq is different to the Kodiaq.

Selected C but the controls do not affect colour or strength on dashboard. I’ll try and contact Škoda. Thanks for your time Silver

Not wanting to confuse things by swapping between different Skoda models, but Skoda have made some changes to the ambient lighting in the Octavia of late.

Both sport and normal modes are red...

Eco - green

Comfort - blue

Normal - red

Sport - red

Individual - green

Might be worthing flicking through the different drive modes if you haven't already?

I see you have the Virtual Cockpit too, not doubt this will add some differentiation to the way the settings work.

I don’t think I can change the colour of the dash instruments. Brightness yes - colour no.

Colour changes available for the the “ambient lighting” scattered around the doors and footwells.

It depends on the spec of your Kodiaq. Not many of the Kodiaq (and perhaps the Karoq too) specs have the colour central display as standard, a lot are just black and white.

On my 2018 Kodiaq Scout I paid an extra £95 for a colour central screen as a factory option.

If you have the colour central screen, then it too changes colour to match the colour set via the 'ambient lighting' feature (again optional on most specs).

The OP has the Virtual Cockpit though i.e. no central screen as we know it, so all of this is likely to be different again.

Here is the colour central display with the ambient lighting set to a shade of green...

I’m familiar with the colour vs. black and white on the previous standard dash.

Now I have a digi dash with a plethora of display options. But even with around over a dozen display options, I don’t think I can change colour.

You didn't mention you had the VC.

It looks as though the default background colour is set, red for the SportLine, white for the other specs.

However, with coding the ability to alter the colour of the VC to match the colour set via the ambient lighting can be unlocked...

Thanks guys. I’ve watched a number of times and it’s not clear how to access the ability to code

The YouTube video is from MTL, a well known coding company based in Slovenia. They essentially plug a laptop into your car via the diagnostic port (OBD) and unlock hidden and locked features...

http://www.mtl.si/sl/avto-storitve/vkljucitev-dodatnih-funkcionalnosti.html

It isn't possible to do it yourself via the cars settings, you will need someone with the necessary software (such as VCDS, OBDeleven etc.) to unlock/activate/enable the feature for you.

You would think that with all the options via VC and ambient light settings that simply changing the dash colour would be less painful.

You would, but then there is a pecking order within VAG, and even within Skoda, so they have to hold some features back to be able to offer sufficient differentiation and price points.
