Loss of power/turbo

Featured Replies

Good evening,

been browsing the forums for a while as ive had the old “sticky vanes” issue or so I thought.

usual symptoms as above (cuts out going up hills & just totally shuts the turbo off)

cycle ignition on/off temp fix.. does it again.

on inspection the turbo had too much play in to just clean the vanes

Brand new turbo fitted... still the same issue.

took MAF sensor off, cleaned.. still the same issue.

Unplugged MAF sensor, still the same issue..

Completely out of ideas now folks & cant just keep blindly throwing money at it,

has any one had any similar issues or could possibly point me in the right direction, Itd be greatly appreciated!

thanks alot in advance!

Vacuum pipe(s) collapsing under turbo heat.

whats your engine type and code?

cant see any car details on your profile.

If you supply some basic information about the car first it would stop this thread turning into a guessing game 👍

Engine code? mileage?

You need to be able to read the fault codes also if you plan on working the issues out, bar it being something really obvious in the engine bay. Who fitted the turbo? did they check all the vacuum hoses? Have you checked every inch of the intercooler piping for leaks? Do you get any smoke? I take it from the above you do you get boost normally until it goes into limp mode?

it turns out it was a loose intercooler pipe..
