Octavia RS 2012 head unit

Featured Replies

Hey.

I've been looking for a new head unit for almost 6 months but all are either sold out or not compatible.

Price range under 300€ and changing the facia isn't something I'm super excited about but I could live with it.

You might want to add which headunit you currently have and what functions/features you're hoping to have?

I have the stock one sold in Finland 1Z0035161F.

My VW had RCD330 which I liked alot

So Bluetooth and Android Auto are the main ones I'm interested in.

That's probably a Skoda Swing.

You could fit the 'green' version of the RCD-330 but you'd need a new facia similar to this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142967040692

The RCD-330, RNS-310, RNS315 and RNS-510 are all the same shape/size so it's easy to get a replacement facia. Just check the HVAC system control cutouts match yours. It's probably the cheapest way to get Android Auto 😕

Is rcd330 plug and play? Or do it need some adapters? I tried looking for one that fits skoda and couldn't find my model in the list.

Thanks for the link to the facia.

It should be plug and play, you'll need an adaptor for the antenna but most sellers seem to include one.

I think you want a green Noname version as they can have firmware updates. Couple of RCD330 examples on Aliexpress:

There is also now an RCD360 but it looks like with has a different quadlock so you'd need an adaptor:

It might be worth checking out https://rcd330plus.com/ as that'll be more upto date than I am :)
