Servicing question

Featured Replies

My 2017 Octavia DSG Auto is having it's second service next week and I have been looking at servicing costs.  The car is on a PCP plan, but we are going to keep the car.  It has only done 21000 miles.  I was looking at their servicing for next year .   Air con service and DSG Oil change?  Are all those really necessary with less than 30,000 miles on the clock?

Also, we only do about 8,000 a year or less and the Skoda garage tells me I should be on fixed servicing.  Our last car was on variable and it was ages between services.  Could I not go on to variable servicing?

What Engine so what DSG does your car have?

The Brake Fluid Change is Scheduled for doing at 3 years old.

If the car has a DSG that gets oil changes then that is at 40,000 miles (Some are now @80,000 miles)

*YOUR CAR IS 2 YEARS AWAY FROM A DSG OIL CHANGE AT YOUR ANNUAL MILEAGE.*

?

When was the Pollen / Cabin Filter changed?

What about the Air Filter, has it been even looked at?

If a TSI are you getting the Spark Plugs changed @ 40,000 miles?

*AGAIN IN 2 YEARS TIME.*

If a TDI the Fuel Filter might get changed in 2 years time / 40,000 miles.

Go on Variable Servicing if you want, but do you want to get MOT'd each year and brakes etc looked at every 2 years or are you going to be doing checks pre and post winters?

It's an Octavia 1.6 DSG TDI automatic..  Hope that helps.  I have one free service left being done next Tuesday.  Brake fluid and MOT will be done then too.  It looks to me like I can pick and choose exactly what they do the year after.  Was thinking of buying a service plan, but I think maybe not and we choose what we get done.

Thank you so much

@freeb1rd

No DSG oil change required then as it is a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch with no Service Schedule / Guidelines for oil changes.
