Wheel fitting

Featured Replies

does anyone know if 20x9.5" ET33 wheels on 255/30/20 tyres will fit a mk3 superb estate?

seen a set on ebay local to me, currently they have 265/35/20's on them, i dont mind swapping the tyres out to a smaller profile, but just want to check that the width isnt too much!

Thanks!

Try this useful website - will show the size / dimensions by comparison to your existing wheels.

Thanks, i can see they will poke out an extra 30mm now, has anyone got any guidance (or got this size fitted) let me know if i can expect these to rub, or cause any other issues

Thanks

I  doubt that this wheel will fit nicely into the arches. I'm running 245/30R20 on 9J wheels with ET30, and that has only been possible by setting the alignment with standard arms to maximum negative. I do have to add that I've lowered the car with H&R coillovers set to the maximum height, which is around 40mm lowering in comparison to standard. Your wheels would stick out another 3.3mm further: https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=245&aspect=30&diameter=20&wheelwidth=9&offset=30&width2=255&aspect2=30&wheel_size=20&wheel_width=9-5&offset2=33

Thanks for the info Michael 👍

Would you say that a 8.5j wide is about as wide as you would normally want to go?

To be on the safe side it is better to not go beyond 8.5J wide, but it all depends on the ET value as well.

I’ve test fitted 9Js with ET41 and those  worked quite a bit better than the 9Js with ET30 you see in my previous pictures. However with these higher ET values you then need to start thinking about how close the inner rim is to the suspension, especially on the front.

I’ve included a picture of the test fit of the 9J with ET41 on the back of my Superb. Ignore the tyre size as that one is definitely wrong for this car, but It was good enough to get an impression.

Do you think i could get into any rubbing issues when the car is loaded,  if i would go for 235/40/19 on 9J et30, with stock DCC suspension and alignment? The math i did says i should be safe but i am still not sure. I found a set of OZ Leggera hlt 19" et30 9j and i can't stop thinkinig about buying them :))

Thx!
