Turning the screen off
Simple question, but I'm going to guess that it isn't a simple answer! Is there a way to turn the main screen off when driving (esp at night for less distraction) While I would prefer the whole screen off, I'd settle for the main part to be off, and the status bar at the top to be on. I have tried pressing the on/off button, and yes that does "blank" most of the screen, but it leaves it grey rather than black, and thus quite alot of light bleed. Anyone shed (less) light on this? Thanks

Tyre size
For my last few sets of winter wheels, i have just bought a set of second hand rims the right size from ebay/gumtree etc, and then fitted the tyres i want, at the moment i have some Audi wheels, and just needed a set of PCD adaptors so they fit correctly. As for the tyre size i assume this means i can move from 215/55/17 to 225/50/17 without too much issue?

Tyre size
The Crossclimate 3 Sport, is only available in 18" and up. I did look into the Pirelli as it seems to get good reviews, but i cant find anywhere that has it for sale. In what way are you finding the Crossclimate 3 not up to your expectations?

Tyre size
I have recently purchased a 2025 2.0tsi sportline estate, and with the time of year, I stuck my winter tyres on it (215/55/17) however it looks like they are not round anymore, and my previous superb (220 2.0 tsi) ,combined with my heavy right foot has mangled the tread and worn them badly on the edges. I fancy moving to all season tyres rather then dedicated winters, however my preferred choice (crossclimate 3) isn't yet available in that size. They are available in 225/50/17, and as far as I can tell that isnt an ideal size, as there is approx 1.5% between 215/55/17 and 225/50/17. Is that enough to be worried about, or should I just get on with it? Thanks

Full Manual mode for the Gearbox?
Is there such a thing now? In my Mk3 Superb, you slid the gearbox leaver over and the car would go into a manual mode let you do the driving. So far i cant find a way of doing that in our Mk4, yes i can use the paddles and row my own for a short time, but as soon as the car decides that funs over, it goes back to auto mode until i pull a paddle again. Is there a way to keep it in manual, or has this been jettisoned for the greater good? Thanks

Maxton design parts
Does anyone have any opinion on these? I'm thinking of getting the splitters skirts, defuser and the boot spoiler for my grey superb estate. I'm a little torn between gloss black and carbon effect does it look like real carbon at all, or is it fooling no one? I like the idea of carbon with the metallic grey on our car, possibly with carbon mirror shells, although that might be me trying too hard wanting it to look like an RS6 or something! I'm also unsure of which from splitter to get, from the pics I'm struggling to see the differences esp when the pics all show a gloss black splitter which doesn't photograph well! And how have people got them fitted, is it a diy job, or is it better to get maxton or a body shop to fit them. Sorry for all the questions, but thanks for any advice/answers!

Dead battery, EFB vs AGM replacement (and self code?)
Far as I can tell the battery is OK, but the car seems to stop/starting less often, so my assumption would be that the battery is starting to decline and may need changing. That thought has been pushed on due to the fact that we are due to be on the nc500 this time next week, and the forecast is for below freezing temps, with a good chance of snow, and I dont fancy being stranded In a remote part of Scotland thanks to a dodgy battery! That car did a run down to Leeds from Newcastle last weekend, and from my multimeter I am seeing about 12.3 to 12.4v with the car off.

Dead battery, EFB vs AGM replacement (and self code?)
I'll go for an EFB then, seems to be no one around here active on the vcds map. I am assuming that as mine has done 5 years this new one should last as long. i am slightly surprised though that others have an agm battery in the same model and I have an efb!
