Oil service at only 3500 miles

Featured Replies

Picked our nearly new karoq 2.0 tdi up middle jan and it’s already come up saying needing oil service in 15 days!!  Does this sound right?

It’s probably actually 12 months old so asking for yearly service? Not reset when sold?

The car I bought yesterday new was made either late Feb or early March so about 6 months old.

Mine is just on 2,500 miles and is due its first "oil" service at the end of the month, the supplying dealer states  £146 and another local Skoda dealer £184.

For 4.7 litre of oil and a filter plus labour!

If the car is getting an oil change because the car is on fixed servicing so it has been 372 days or 9,400 miles since first registered that service really is not just an oil / filter service.  It is not much more than that.  But then the oil is long life oil and the car left the factory on variable servicing so 24 months 18,000 to 20,000 mile intervals.  But someone changed that.  If you want just an oil and filter change then do not pay more than needed.  If you want the oil and filter and inspection there is a Skoda UK fixed price menu and some may do it for less than that.
