keyfob battery failing with *no* warning
As I see its a cheap battery I just bought a card of 6 Panasonic CR2025 mind you that is no guarantee they are the genuine article and not copies. I also own an RX-8 and we know that cheap Chinese counterfeit ignition coil packs in Mazda packaging are out there on sale and a Mazda dealer was caught out selling these as the genuine article the giveaway used to be they were a lot cheaper but the counterfeiters have got wise to that and upped the price!

keyfob battery failing with *no* warning
An Interesting experience my Karoq just provided me with - I went to open the boot but couldn`t then noticed no warning light on the remote the Karoq has only completed 5K miles in 18 months anyway got my spare key which was OK so deduced the battery needed replacing but no warning it had worked OK the day before anyway I had a supply of CR2025 batteries so changed the battery but remote still not working so tried another new battery but still not working so took the battery out of the working spare remote which was unused but that made no difference so decided the remote must be at fault so a quick trip to the Skoda dealer to be informed that I would have to buy a new battery from them to check the remote was faulty before they would do anything, I pointed out that I had just tried two new batteries and the battery out of the unused spare remote but none had worked so the service rep` took my remote into the workshop and after 10 minutes came back with the remote now working and said they had just fitted a new battery and it was OK now. So they charged me £5.10p for the new battery which appeared to be better than Panasonic, and Duracell which I already had both within a long user date I returned home and just out of curiosity checked what this better battery was - it was just a cheapy no name CR2025 you know the sort £2.50 for a card of 10. Apart from the nice little earner for the dealer what happened there then?

Karoq 4x4 spare wheel kit
I fitted this to my Scout (19" wheels) Its easy enough to do I bought the spare wheel kit from a Skoda dealer that was selling on eBay and an unused space saver wheel at the time there was plenty for sale then as it has been said you need to trim the polystyrene carrier for the wheel to fit with varioflex seats - in all it cost me a lot less than buying it all from a Skoda dealer.

To be honest I love my Karoq but I need to change it and I quite fancy a Cupra Ateca being similar in size to the Karoq but I am also considering an Enyaq and have looked at both but the Enyaq is Kodiaq size which is a bit big for what I need and I am not sure if the infrastructure is there for an EV.

Well if you have a Karoq Scout TDI fitted with a Superchips Powergate remap and 197 BHP/431 Nm of torque and 0-60 in 6.5 secs why not call it a VRS! Its quite quick for a 4x4 SUV I didn`t bother with the red calipers though.

Interior light.
If you have the interior light switches as in Variant 1 switch `A` controls automatic switching, when on (depressed) the interior lights only come on when opening the door irrespective if the engine is running or not. So definitely no auto interior lights on until you open the door. The first car I have had in years that didn`t put the lights on when turning the engine off - both my previous KUGA`s one with a key and one without both managed it.

Several replies but not any of them of any use what so ever - thanks for all your help!

Interior light.
No key just button on and off.

Interior light.
Well if it's pitch black at night you stop the engine and the interior light comes on rather than you groping around for the light switch or having to open the door to put the light on if you wish to stay in the car.

Interior light.
Why does the interior lighting not come on when the engine is turned off and then needs the door opening to come on ? Most cars the lighting comes on when you just turn the engine off. Or have I missed something to switch it.

That`s novel self opening boot!
My Scout has a power boot but is not foot operated, only by the remote or by the button on the boot lid or the footwell button, I find it impossible to open the boot just from the remote being in a loose fitting jacket pocket other than by actually pressing and hold the button so hopefully it was just a one off. I will add that when opening/closing the boot it is quite powerful and I don`t know if you could actually stop it once moving.
