Newly Purchased Mk2 Monte Carlo Estate - Advice?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone! First time poster here.

Tomorrow I’m picking up a 2014 Monte Carlo Estate 1.6tdi! I’m very excited to pick her up

Car is on 55,000 miles with a good service history and it’s been looked after pretty well by the looks of things.

However I’m aware the cam belt has never been changed? Will it need done?

Also any other advice or tips would be very much appreciated

It’s 5 years old so yeah I’d change the belt and the water pump.

cheaper to do the belts than buy a new engine and trust me I know 😂

also for advice don’t look at my build thread it will make you bankrupt.

Magic mate thanks very much.

Cambelt/water pump kits are pretty reasonable at £120, any ideas of the labour cost?

not sure what they would be on their own mines was done last year when i was getting the diff and clutch done on the car. usually most places when they provide the parts is around £350 so maybe £200
