Recently acquired so the missus can learn to drive

 

She has tried and failed with manual so opted for an Audi A3 Sport Sportback s-tronic 2.0l tdi 150 (absolute mouthful)

 

Looked a bit grandad spec so ordered some 18” alloys and a rear spoiler lip. Also added a front splitter but i have since removed that as looked a bit like a snowplough and i’m now trying to source s-line bumpers and skirts.

 

Got some audi wheel badges on order was hoping the originals would fit the aftermarket wheels but unfortunately not. I did want the wheels in black and diamond cut faces but again opted against that due to corrosion and the missus will likely prang them too. Had also considered BBS but that would of just been sacrilege with a learner.

 

had to get the boy a recaro seat too!

They are aftermarket Romac Venom 18" in a matt grey

 

I ummed and arred when choosing alloys, almost bought a set of BBS but i had to be mindfull that the missus is a learner driver so whichever set i picked would get most likely trashed, so these were the nicest cheap option think they were only £499 so if they got pinged / kerbed i wouldn't be as upset.

 

I cosidered OEM 18" sline alloys but you can never guarantee 2nd hand wheels being straight. The wheels i did go for are available in some what i think are nicer finishes, you can get a gloss black with polished face, a grey with polished face or standard silver. i discounted the polished ones although they look better due to if they got kerbed they would corrode easier. So although not my preferred finish they should in theory last longer and easier to refurb.

 

I put decent tyres on them again more so for her some Bridgestone All Weather A0005's
