Appreciate any advice for the following 

 

'02 1.4l 16v petrol 55k, generally little use( i.e. weekends for shopping)

I have in the last couple of months noticed that after a Long (ie 30 miles plus) run, the engine will on occasion stall when at idle speed.

It feels almost like not enough fuel is getting through to stop the engine from stalling, revs seem to fluctuate between 700 and 1000rpm at idle

I have recently replaced the battery, thinking it might have something to do with that, but this doesnt seem to be the issue

Has it been scanned for fault codes?

....not had it looked at yet, to be honest   I spent quite a bit recently on other bits & pieces and pieces,so conscious of cost....
