Power drop following service?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Recently my 2018 Octavia vRS TSI 230 went into Skoda for its first service, and I've noticed a drop in power. Is this likely due to a software or system update? I'd be interested to find out if anyone else has experienced this.

Thanks :)

What service did you have? I would ask the garage who did it if any software was updated.

Just the standard full service included with my deal from my local Skoda main dealership. I wasn't sure if any of the recent issues surrounding emissions could have had an impact on software updates.

As far as I am aware there werent any issues with the petrol engines. It was the diesel engines.

Thanks for this. The car will more than likely be going into Skoda next week to address some sunroof issues, so I will see what they say.

The first service is essentially just an oil change with all the areas required within easy access. Unless you gave them the go ahead to carry out any updates (none of which I'm aware of on the petrol engines)  they shouldn't have done any.
