Panoramic roof sunshade

Featured Replies

My vehicle is a Mk3 Octavia but believe Yetis use the same sunroof and many Yetis have a pano.

I can't get my sunshade to fully close. It will fully close then opens about 1/5th. Tried closing with a single press and a continuous press, makes no difference. Battery has not been disconnected. I had left it in the open position for a number weeks before trying to close it. It will fully open.

Car is still within warranty but before going to the dealership I was wondering if  I am missing a trick or if this is a common problem?

Is anything stopping it closing fully, even grit.

If 'back open a bit' is a trick, I have missed it since 2016.

Mine opens fully and closes fully (and stays closed) and will stop partway when I take my finger off the button.

I think you must have a really special edition!

Under waranty - back to dealer?

It has the same force limiter as the windows, if anything obstructs it, child's hand etc it will back off a bit.
If nothing is stopping it closing fully the closed position on the force limiter needs resetting like the windows.

The shade should move all the way open/close with a single press.

Keeping one’s digit on the button keeps it moving until you remove said digit.

I’ve never had a problem with it not fully opening or closing. Sometimes the current ones shuts with a ‘thump’ like it slightly over runs.

There is a ‘reset’ setting for the roof but I don’t know how it effects the blind if at all. Bit like with the windows. Once the roof has closed, hold the roof switch in the ‘closed’ position and the roof goes into tilt mode then closes - from what I recall, years since I did it. Might be worth a try.

PS The Yeti blind doesn’t ever stay open, or at least on the three Yetis I’ve had, over night (ie when the ambient air temperature cools) the blind shuts by itself and the same when it rains. My Yetis have all had light/rain sensors, if that makes a difference.
