No.

I think he must have been typing with his mouth open.

As the words formed in his head, they fell out of his mouth and he lost them.

I get his drift though, don't you?

My guess...comparing RR results for 2 cars, and it was calculated that the Skoda had larger transmission losses than a Cosworth?

If I'm right, I want a prize. :D

i was comparing two cars my mate had his cossie on the rolling road yesterday.they both made 177bhp at the wheels.dont even remember putting this on last night i was well p**ssed.

But...

If the Cossie has 214BHP & the Skoda 193BHP, but they both make 177BHP at the wheels, then surely the Cossie has the greater transmission losses? Which would make sense as presumably the Cossie is 4WD.

Although I have been known to post complete rubbish even without being p**ssed!

Cheers

4x4 has greater losses, however something doesn't sound right there still.

193bhp @ fly, 177@ wheels = 8% loss. If that's the case then you have a very efficient drivetrain. Normal for FWD is somewhere close to 15% IIRC.

4WD is usually closer to 25%, so again, that doesn't make quite add up.

You sure on the accuracy of the RR? Did they actually measure the losses or just guess?

the cossie was a 2 wheel drive.my mate had recently paid them

and you said that VAG tuning was expensive sheaf :)

my vag engine with basic mods and a knackered turbo made 201bhp yesterday :)

Does seem alot for std power. I'm thinking its being run in at a lower boost setting.

lol, yeah... I think that chap got ripped off

Cossies are what, 225bhp as std? and can be easily and cheaply tuned to close to 300bhp I think. I remember reading a while back that the engine was built for 300bhp and denuted.

215bhp from a cossie and I'd be crying.

Still think the RR was inaccurate though, the tranmission loses for the skoda are way too low.

it might be a N/A YB though, ditch the turbo and tune the hell out of the engine. no lag :)

the engine on the cossie was knackered.he got a full bottom end rebuild with low compression forged pistons, and a brand new cylinder head and new valves for that.that price also includes a turbo back mongoose exhaust.i think there be more transmision loses with the cossie because it is rear wheel drive.
