Options for ACC

Featured Replies

On my Superb III 1.6 TDI CR SE Technology Estate, in the Driving Mode menu, if you select the Individual Mode, it not only allows you to specify the Driving Mode (Eco, Normal, Sport), but it also allows you to put in a setting for the ACC which can be Comfort, Normal, Sport or Eco.

My question is what this does this ACC setting do that is different from the Mode setting, because I could for example set Drive Mode to Sport and ACC to Eco or have various other combinations.  The handbook appears to be silent on this.

I believe it becomes more aggressive in its behaviour. That is, later braking when approaching another vehicle, and, harder acceleration once you're clear of traffic.

Basically it drives like an Audi driver 😂

Not sure ive noticed a difference in braking behaviour but it definitely makes it accelerate faster when you increase the set speed or an obstacle in front clears. I suppose if it accelerating more, it will have to brake more too.

I run my individual mode acc setting in sport and the only thing I’ve noticed over the standard drive mode is the way it accelerates when changing speed (say coming out of a 50 zone to 70).

in eco it very slowly accelerates, drive is slightly better and sport is somewhere in between drive mode and full on giving it a boot full of the throttle.

braking seems to be the same in either mode and is generally quite late and hard at speed depending on the distance setting which I usually run between minimum on a dry road to plus 2 or 3 when the conditions are not ideal.
