Instrument cluster lights not working

Featured Replies

Hello Skoda owners,

I have an issue with the instrument cluster lights and also the air conditioning ones. Yesterday I removed the glove box light to change it and now when I got in the car and turned on the lights, my dash board lights would not turn on. The warning lights are working like the opened door, hand brake, check engine, etc., only the lights for the mileage and speedometer/revs.

I have to mention the fact that I did not plug back the glove box light. I don't know if that is the issue or not.

Does anyone have any idea why only those lights have stopped working and how I can fix that issue?

You might wanna check the brightness level switch, the one next to the headlamp level switch. It might have failed. I had the same issue in my Octy. If it is the culprit, you can change it, as an alternative and a quick fix, you can short the 2 wires of the connector to the switch, but that will result in 100% brightness all the time.

I suspect a blown fuse.
