Heavy clutch Vs Citigo?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Just bought a 66 plate Fabia 1.4TDI with 48k miles through the Skoda approved used scheme, from dealership 3 hours from home.

Really like the car overall, feels much more solid than my old Citigo. The only big difference I'm struggling to get used to is the clutch pedal. I appreciate the Citigo has a featherlight clutch but I'm finding this one on the Fabia much harder to release consistently and certainly heavier, I'm struggling to pull away smoothly but that could just be the clutch or dmf on its way out after 4 years of abuse. Quite an unrefined clunk at top of pedal travel.

Maybe I just need to readjust but curious if anyone else has driven both and can compare? Perhaps the clutch in the diesels is heavier still? Don't really want to go down the warranty route especially as it would be through a different dealership but if it's a master cylinder/hydraulic fluid issue I'd rather get it sorted sooner than later.
