Door seal removal

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Can anybody advise of how to remove the door seals on my 2012 TDI CR pls? I've had a quick look and the leading edge appears to just slide of but the bottom edge appears to be fixed by some kind of plugs.  They're not ping'ing off too easily so i dont want to force them in case i tear them off with too much force.

Reason i ask is my better 'alf has bought a Yeti and the bottom front and back of all doors are a bit rusty and the rust is hiding behind the seals.  I want to clean out any drain holes and make sure my doors dont suffer the same fate.

Sorry but my search 'capabilities' on forums tend to fizzle out after five minutes (read 'impatient') :-)

Having taken a torch and my best reading glasses i think i might be able to remove the little white plugs with a plastic trim removal tool.....they're pretty gunky under there.....good detailing brush and some APC will get them nice and clean me thinks.
