Mk 2 estate tailgate lock

Following on from my loss of luggage lights following the replacement of the original tailgate ( and original battery, why does doing one job always make others ? ) can anybody tell me how many micro switches are there on the tailgate lock assembly 

there must be at least one the open / closed icon on the instrument cluster works if there’s two that maybe why the luggage compartment lights don’t work ? ( note the use of maybe ...........
