Mate I am already feeling depressed for the stupid mistake I have done, so please don’t remind me that again!

lol , just kidding!
My Skoda was made in July of 2020, so very unfortunately it falls in to MY20 category. So I have MIB2 system with out any of these fancy stuff!

I should have waited for a month and got the post September 2020 model.

It's still a cracking car though mate. definitely the best car I've ever had and its the poverty spec. sorry I can't help with the wireless Car play though. If it makes you feel any better i had a few issues with carplay on MIB3 it seemed buggy at first but a factory reset of the car and my phone seems to have fixed it although the infotainment does take longer to boot than the one on my previous Vauxhall.

But I have had 2 hiccups with the MIB2 Amusden system too. The CarPlay cut it self 20 mins into my journey in more than 2 instances. Not sure I need to do a factory reset?

Found my inner peace with this new set up . The coiled apple cord made my life so easy!

You can get a 90deg usb adaptor and a short usb > lightning cable so that the sliding cover can be closed completely.

My iPod lives there permanently!

Amazon has several choices!

Thank you !

And from me.

I’ve been using a Carplay2Air for a couple of months now and it’s been a great success. I bought a 90 degree adapter, and it fits brilliantly under the sliding cover in the narrow channel within the phone box. It’s held in place with a strip of double sided tape so that the lid slides shut properly 👍

good to hear that!

do you have any set up for the wireless charging?

@westie38

Could you please comment on the wireless car play booting time?

Not particularly, mine has the original charging phone box and signal amp. At the moment I still have an iPhone 7, so it doesn’t charge on the charge pad, although my wife’s 8+ still fits on the pad and charges even with the CarPlay device fitted.

Boot up time takes around 40 seconds or so.

When you say charge pad is that a 3rd party wireless charging pad?

No, I meant the built-in charge pad under the sliding cover in the centre console.

Oh i do not have the built in wireless charger.

Out of curiosity, how much is the wireless car play booting time on the MY21 Skoda Karoq ?

It’s usually loaded by the time it’s loaded the profile (exactly the same as if the phone was plugged in before the ignition was switched on). One of my few griping issues with this car is the infotainment takes longer to boot than my previous car. And I’ve had to do more than one power button resets on it already. The other being the gearbox. I sometimes struggle to get first. It the. Goes with a crunch.

Thanks for the reply. I was comparing the boot up times of wireless car play with dongles and built in wireless car play.

here I am!
me too without wireless carplay and without charging box! (to be honest I don't miss it too much, I think they are both slow)

I have a nice complication, I can't find a correctly angled cable.

This is the situation for us Europeans (drive on the left) with a standard usb angled cable!

the cable so bent does not last long.

Hi Devis,

I find original apple cable flexible enough to be bent. So may be you should try a set up similar to mine.
check this video out-

After plugging I leave my phone on the top as it’s easily accessible compared to picking it from inside the box.

Tried mirabox wireless CarPlay adapter  and I am quite happy with it. No lag and stutter during play back and navigation.
