Mk1 vrs wishbone question please help

Featured Replies

Hi all im wondering is 1.9 tdi mk1 wishbones the same as vrs ones as euro car parts are charging 16 quid for a diesel one and 79 quid for the vrs

im gonna say no,

as the overall front suuspension on diesels is completely different to the vrs. eg droplinks are only about 4inches long on the diesel compared about a foot on the vrs

I can only see one OEM part number for the Octavia MK1 front wishbone.

Front wishbone OEM number 1J0407151C

SKF wishbone with right ball joint

The wishbone is not handed so the same wishbone will fit on the left side and the right side. However, the ball joint that is bolted to the wishbone is handed, as there is a left ball joint and a right ball joint.

I believe they are the same.

Beware buying cheap parts though - there is a good chance they'll wear out much quicker than decent ones. (I'm talking about the bushes in the wishbone here)
