Has anyone had this happen on their Octy II? At first I thought it was me not using the switches properly but last night when I got back to the car all four windows were open very slightly, not enough so that you could see but enough that I could tell because of the noise from the engine. Any info would be grateful. Tried to do a search on the forum but it says it is disabled.

Don't suppose you press and hold unlock to open the car do you? Holding unlock down will lower all four windows. And vice versa with lock, it was a bit of a suprise when it first happened to me!

I couldn't understand why all my windows were open on Sunday morning ( live on a farm so could have been worse) but remembered that I had gone to get something out of the boot in the dark the night before and cursed when the boot release button on teh keyfob didn't work - I'd obviously been holding down the wrong button!!

Mine you I don't really know why anyone would want to remotely open the windows !!!

Handy when you want to cool the interior down a bit on a hot day before you get in.......

I used it yesterday. Parked in quite a tight space, managed to squeeze my podgy body out and realised i'd left my phone on the passenger seat. Press and hold the unlock button til the windows go down then leant in to retrieve my phone.

I've also used it to cool the interior on hot days.

I would find it a better feature if you could disable the rear windows fom opening when using this feature. I tend to use this feature when leaving work on hot days, but trouble is, when you start driving with all four windows down, it gets a bit windy. So I always tend to have to put the rear windows back up once I get in.

Thanks Dave I went out and investigated and yes no believe thats what I was doing, never realised it had that feature. Thanks a lot as has stopped me thinking I was becoming very forgetful to say the least.

Used it today to open all the windows to cool car down while walking across staff car park before I got in, thanks for the tip.

Thought I'd tag onto this thread (9mth old 2.0TDI Ambiente hatchback)...

My wife called me today to say that when she came out of the supermarket the driver's window was down about two inches even though she hadn't had it open en-route. Later after returning home the alarm began sounding and upon investigation all but the driver's window had opened about two inches. When she left the car the windows had all been closed.

Earlier postings suggest the auto-window open/close feature but that's not on my keyfob, only when using the key in the door - it also operates all four windows of course (I've used it in the past).

Any ideas?

Had she held the key for a few seconds when unlocking the door? This opens the window on our old golf. Sorry don't know much about alarms.

Now I know about the remote key thing on new Octy I am almost sure that is what happened.

someone should 'sticky' this issue as it keeps cropping up. It was no surprise to me as i had read an owners manual back to front before i got my car. Sad ain't I.

Mine's just been in today to fix a fault wit hthe driver's window. Goes down nicely but won't come back up unless you open and then slam the door. Could be related?
