Octavia v Superb

I'm coming to the end of my fourth Superb lease but prices have shot up and so has the size of the Superb over the past nine years. I'm thinking about getting an Octavia (probably the 2.0 diesel, same as my Superbs) and was wondering if anyone has done a similar downsize and if so, what did they find? I do about 10k miles a year, usually a 67/33 split between round town on my own and longer journeys with one passenger and sometimes luggage.
